The Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad is proud to have received the 2022 Outstanding Volunteer Team award from Loudoun Cares during an event at the River Creek Club in Leesburg, Virginia on 12 May 2022.
The nomination for the award noted that “At a time of great uncertainty and risk and when citizens were told to isolate, the members of Sterling Rescue continued reporting in or their duty shifts and responded to the public’s calls for help.” During 2021 Sterling Rescue responded to over 8000 calls for service with a group of over 150 committed volunteers performing operational and administrative duties, with crews working from stations in Sterling Park (Station 615), Cascades (Station 625), and Kincora (Station 635).
We congratulate the members from Sterling Rescue for their award and their service and commitment to serving our community and the surrounding areas.
